BnA HOTEL

CONNECTING ART LOVERS TO JAPANESE ARTISTS

BnA is a creative collective exploring the relationship between art and community to develop a global network of artists, creators, social agents and free thinkers looking to do things differently.

Projects like BnA HOTEL connect art loving travelers to undiscovered art talent, scenes and communities. BnA HOTEL Koenji, the first venture for the BnA team, is a small two art room hotel in the heart of Tokyo’s underground art scene. BnA HOTEL Koenji has become a hub for international and local creatives to meet and network.

BnAs second art hotel, BnA STUDIO Akihabara, gives way to both artist and travelers exploring ideas of future urban living, design and functionality.

All BnA hotels explore different concepts of how we engage with art, artist and local communities. One concept applied to all BnA hotels is a profit sharing system developed by Bna. Each time a room is booked, BnA shares part of the revenue earned with artist who have produced art rooms, creating a system of continual income and exposure for the artists involved.

Looking for a way to impact society positively and create social change, BnA is looking to build a new network of 21st century renaissance people.

BnA STUDIO Akihabara

CURATED TOKYO URBAN LIVING BY TOKYO’S LEADING ARTISTS

Curated and modern with respect to Japanese traditions and craftsmanship, BnA STUDIO Akihabara explores ideals of future Urban Tokyo Living as envisioned by Japanese artists studioBOWL, 81 BASTARDS and 51.3 G-WAVE.

BnA worked with visionary artists, chosen as representatives of Urban Culture in Tokyo and for their ability to turn unique concepts into liveable art rooms.

Comprised of five rooms, traditional ideas of an “art hotel room” decorated with a few paintings is not what you will find at BnA STUDIO. Each room pushes the boundaries of art, design and functionality, from the shape of the room to custom-built furniture and unimaginable art concepts, BnA invites guests into a world curated for them by Tokyo's most progressive artists.

Artists receive a share of the profits from each room booking, a revenue share concept implemented across all BnA Hotels, with intent of empowering artists and local art communities.

BnA PROJECTS

MURAL CITY PROJECT - Turning Neighbourhoods into Street Art Galleries

MURAL CITY PROJECT -

Started in October 2016, MURAL CITY PROJECT is a street art initiative run by the BnA Collective in hopes of promoting both up and coming Japanese artists and local creative neighborhoods by creating murals that transform and inspire the surrounding landscape.

Although a progressive city, Tokyo, and Japan in general, is lacking when it comes to public street art. Unlike in the US or Europe, in Japan street art is still seen as “defacing of public property” and illegal.

BnA is pioneering Mural Art Projects in Japan, by turning local neighbourhoods into street art galleries. With the support of the local government, private building owners and local community, Koenji has become the first city in Tokyo to participate in BnAs Mural City Project (MCP). KoenjiMCP gained much national and international attention leading BnA to consult and produce Murals for the Tokyo Mural Project run by MORI Building, inspired by Koenji MCP.

Todate MCP has produced 5 permanent murals in Tokyo with more in the pipeline and the team is looking to take MCP out of Tokyo and into the rest of Japan.
